I just started cello at 66. Listening to this makes me want to practice even more. Beautiful.

In the letter posted from Vienna on 10 April 1784 Mozart wrote to his father: "I wrote two great concertos and quintet which was received with enthusiasm. This is the best thing I ever written in my life(…)" I believe he would be very happy to listen to this performance. 😊🤞

This magnificent music was played in ICH KLAGE AN 1941...a Kleenex required film, very sensitively made in Germany and banned for a while after 1945 BUT a masterpiece ! Even now, some would have it censored.

Great performance and interpretation.

I have recently been learning this piece by playing along with her using my speaker system. What a wonderful way to learn - play along with the masters. The tone gets into my head, the techniques, timing, phrasing, dynamics, everything. It is a game changer. In a matter of weeks, the change has been phenominal. Thanks Katy - gonna marry you!!!

Pianist acting like he is to die of St Vitus' dance any minute now. No need for such over-acting, at the contrary. All else very fine, woodwinds cheerful and correct and harmonious, and the horn indeed wonderfully balancing at the edge of not being a real genuine woodwind :)
